**Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity**

The Payroll Advisor will provide point of contact Payroll advice and assistance to Te Puni Kōkiri. This requires a competent Payroll practitioner that can undertake standard Payroll processing; but also, the running of Payroll reports and other Payroll-associated administration such as a contact for other agencies i.e. Statistics, IRD, etc.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Payroll, the Payroll Advisor will work with the team to manage all payroll related activities.

**Ko wai koe | About you**

If you have experience in the following areas, then we want to hear from you:

- Providing payroll services of minimum 2 years.
- Accounts processing, budget management and reporting.
- Providing a range of customer focused human resource services - including leave management and human resource reporting.

To be successful in this role the Payroll Advisor will be able to demonstrate:

- A high level of numeric and logical reasoning ability.
- Proficient Excel experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated capability to understand the needs and requirements of a core government department.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Well-developed relationship management and influencing skills.
- Trustworthiness and discretion.
- A high level of commitment to detail, quality, thoroughness and delivery.

PREFERRED
- Experience using PayGlobal (highly advantageous).
- An understanding of Tikanga Māori and basic greetings and pronunciation in te reo Māori.
