**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

The purpose of the Transformation team is to support our people through change, in a future-focused NPHS that leads to Pae Ora. The team leads a transformation programme that delivers the changes established under Pae Ora (Healthy Futures Legislation) and is aligned with Te Whatu Ora's strategic direction.We have a team of approximately 20 people with a wide range of skills include technical expertise, project management and learning and development.

As a disability specific role in Te Whatu Ora, the Senior Advisor Disability will also be a member of the wider Te Whatu Ora disability whanau which is made up of disability specific roles from other directorates in Te Whatu Ora.

**Mōu | About you**

You are someone with previous experience working in a disability context, whether in the community, in government or in an NGO space. You have proven experience in leading and delivering a change disability work programme or disability projects for a medium to large size organization.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification or post graduate qualification and / or significant work experience in the disability sector
- Able to provide advice based on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Enabling Good Lives Principles, and the Health of Disabled People Strategy
- Strong understanding of the different disabilities and their views and perspectives and the different ways disabled people experience public health services
- Excellent analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate new information, and to write and talk about complex issues clearly and concisely with a range of audiences
