Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
Supporting the Manager Health, Safety & Wellbeing, the Senior Adviser Health, Safety & Wellbeing will provide advice, assistance, and support across the Biosecurity New Zealand business to enable a consistent approach to operational management of health and safety that is effective and sustainable.
The Senior Adviser Health, Safety & Wellbeing focus will be on promoting leadership in health and safety, taking a systematic approach to identifying and managing risk, and involve managers and staff in creating safe systems of work and provide work environments that are injury-free.

Mōu - About You
The Senior Adviser Health, Safety & Wellbeing is an operational role, so you will bring a minimum of 5 years' experience in occupational health and safety and/or relevant professional roles within a large operational organisation. You would also have previous experience in working in NZ government regulatory frameworks and operational environments.
You will have demonstrated skills and experience in the project management and experience in implementing health, safety & wellbeing initiatives. You will also have exceptional oral, written communication and presentation skills will have the ability to manage, coordinate and improve work processes involving others.
You will be recognised for your initiative, technical aptitude and sound judgement making and you will have a proven ability to multi-task in a fast past environment. Your resilience will also enable you to be able to work under pressure and can anticipate and resolve problems based on risk management principles.

Mō tō mātou Rōpū - About the Team
The role is part of the Biosecurity Central/South Team within Biosecurity New Zealand, and in conjunction with the Manager Health, Safety & Wellbeing is responsible for providing advice, assistance, and support across Biosecurity New Zealand business to enable a consistent approach to operational management of health and safety that is effective and sustainable.
