The Inland Port is a leading provider of commercial import, export and warehouse services in the central North Island and plays a key role in increasing supply chain efficiencies at Napier Port.

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Board Chair, the Manawatu Inland Port Site Manager is responsible for providing leadership of the port to enable a smooth operation, deliver on customer and stakeholder expectations and grow the business. The Site Manager will also be responsible for leading a team, developing effective succession planning and SMART development tools for team growth and development.

**Key priorities for the role include**:

- You will lead the Manawatu Inland Port operations and ensure operational requirements and customer expectations are delivered
- You will identify opportunities for improving operational efficiencies
- You will lead and develop a highly successful team
- You will work closely with customers and operational staff to develop logistics solutions and resolve problems
- You will support adherence to Ministry of Primary Industries and Customs obligations and work closely with other respective border security personnel
- You will work closely with local government agencies to ensure the operation is best placed for future development
- You will identify new business opportunities and develop strategic customer relationships
- You will have full profit and loss responsibility
- You will demonstrate exemplary health and safety leadership

**About you**:

- You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the logistics/warehousing/supply chain sector or shipping industry
- You will have proven operational leadership skills
- You will have proven health and safety leadership skills
- You will have experience with business development and customer relationship management
- You will have strong commercial and financial acumen
- You will have sound business planning, reporting and organisational skills
- You will be a strong communicator

Experience with obtaining and maintaining MPI transitional facility operator’s certification and the International Institute of Container Lessors certification would also be advantageous.
