We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Principal Adviser to join our Biosecurity Strategy team. Key activities of this role include; contributing to an efficient and effective secretariat function to governance committees and boards, supporting Biosecurity with strategy, performance planning and advice to guide decision making.
- You will work closely with Chairs and committee members to provide strategic and operational governance advice, as well as giving support and guidance to the organisation to ensure our committees are getting high quality information for decision making
- You will work alongside an exceptional, supportive and knowledgeable team with opportunities for learning and development, you will have the opportunity to influence and establish best practice governance, planning and reporting processes and protocols

This role requires someone with good understanding of business initiatives and strategic direction of the organisation.

**To succeed in this role, your experience will enable you to**:

- Provide expert advice on governance best practices
- Design and implement pragmatic process design and improvement
- Design and collate Performance Measures to provide visibility on the tracking of the organisations outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess and refine existing processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in strategy execution.
- Work with our Risk and Assurance team to support compliance and risk management to maintain transparency and accountability across the organization.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic plans, working closely with leadership to align with our outcomes and objectives.
- Oversee the co-ordination of reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

The Biosecurity New Zealand Strategy and Planning team is a recently formed group of talented experts that sit within the Strategy and Assurance Directorate. We work closely with the Biosecurity New Zealand Leadership team providing expert advice, systems and tools.
