**Patient At Risk (PAR) Team**
**Permanent, Part time (0.8 FTE)**
**North Shore & Waitakere Hospital**
The PAR team consists of specialist senior nurses who respond to and support patients either recovering from critical illness or displaying clinical signs of deterioration.
Eligibility for positions of Speciality Nurse or Clinical Nurse Specialist hinges on prior experience and meeting certain prerequisites, which include:
- At least 5 years of post-registration experience within an acute care setting (ED/ADU/PACU/CCU/ICU)
- Holding a minimum RN level 4 in their current area of practice
- Completion of or progress towards a Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s degree, with a focus on Intensive/Critical Care nursing or other pertinent specialties
- Possession of a current CORE Advanced Resuscitation certification
We seek proactive, enthusiastic, and compassionate individuals with strong teamwork, communication, and leadership abilities for this fulfilling and demanding role. Previous experience in similar teams (such as Outreach/Patients at Risk) would be beneficial.
The PAR team offers a senior nurse career pathway, including opportunities for nurse practitioner development.
The PAR team operates on a 12-hour shift schedule, covering both day and night shifts, at both the North Shore and Waitakere Hospital locations.
