About the roleThis is a part-time 32 hours per week position and will have key relationships with our clinical personnel including Oncologists, Clinical Services Manager, and reporting to the Nurse Team Leads. Alongside the team, this role will work as an independent and autonomous practitioner ensuring that cancer patients receive the highest standard of care and support from diagnosis and through the course of their disease.
Key responsibilities will include:

To provide expert clinical advice and support to patients and their whanau/support network
To act as a key worker co-ordinating the patients' care through the Oncology pathway
To provide direct patient care including treatment and acute care
Provide palliative & Survivorship Care
Act as a clinical resource for members of the nursing team
Proactively seek opportunities to improve patient care and service delivery
Assist with clinical audit and quality improvement activities

The successful candidate will have:

5+ years' experience in an Oncology setting
Post graduate study (preferred)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
Excellent prioritisation skills
Ability to manage a complex and varied workload
Excellent communication skills
IT literate – able to use Microsoft Word and Excel
