**R&D Team Leader - Embedded Software/Control**:

We constantly push the limits of convention, while retaining our focus on delivering solid returns for our customers and shareholders. Join us as R&D Team Leader - Software/Control based in Napier, Hawkes Bay and you will use your people management and technical knowledge to lead and manage a stable and technically competent team of software and control engineers. Reporting to R&D Manager you will be a technical leader either in the field of control systems for power electronic systems or real-time software implementation of those control systems, or maybe even both. Experience of power electronics products would be desirable.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Manage a team within the R&D department
- On the software side:

- C/C++ experience (5+ years)
- Real-time, multi-rate software development
- TCP/IP networking, protocol debugging
- Linux systems understanding
- A working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, PHP
- Python
- Bash
- Autotools
- An appreciation of cyber security
- Real time embedded systems hardware
- Architecture of embedded systems for power electronics equipment
- Control
- Develop advanced control algorithms for power electronics products, with a knowledge of 3-phase power systems
- Use Matlab Simulink for algorithm development and validation
- Experience with hardware-in-loop desirable
- Experience of grid tied inverters and energy storage integration
- Modern control techniques such as model predictive control

**Your background**:

- Degree in Electrical/Control engineering
- 10 years’ experience in a similar role
