We are seeking an experienced Hospital Play Specialist to join our Hospital Play Specialist service here at Health NZ, Te Whatu Ora - Waikato
- As a successful Hospital Play Specialist, you will play a key role in providing psychosocial support through a comprehensive therapeutic play, recreation and educational programme for tamariki and rangatahi in the Early Childhood centre, on the paediatric wards and in our Activity Spaces.
- Day to day you will be providing and promoting the psychosocial care of paediatric clients and their families/whānau/caregivers, through a comprehensive play facility that assists the understanding of illness, treatment and hospitalisation.

- Hospital Play Specialists are a team of healthcare professionals that specialise in child development. We bring skills from the field of education combined and complemented by training, knowledge and experience in the spheres of healthcare. We provide evidence-based psychosocial interventions that aim to reduce the stress and anxiety associated with hospitalisation. We use play as a medium to extend developmentally appropriate information to correct misconceptions and reduce anxiety around medical experiences.

**Mōu | About you**
- Bachelor degree in Teaching (ECE) Diploma of Teaching (ECE)
- Teacher registration
- Hospital Play Specialist Registration(or a commitment to becoming registered within a timeframe)
- Have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure delivery of excellent quality care
- High level of initiative and adaptability
- Support, passionate, positive attitude team player with excellent communication and time management skills
