**Salary**: $107,338 - $143,809

The Advisor will play a key role in the development of the Literacy and Learning Directorate’s responses to the changing needs of the education sector and the National Curricula. Working to support the Director and the National Managers Literacy and Learning, they provide strategic advice and analysis on complex and emerging trends in the education sector, build collaborative relationships and influence with key agencies and external stakeholders, and identify approaches and options for solutions that can be implemented to support the Directorate’s strategic priorities and outcomes. The Strategic Advisor will lead projects within the directorate related to education and the curriculum refresh.

We are looking for a talented strategic thinker with a depth of education and curricula experience who can work collaboratively and flexibly others to create an integrated approach. Will bring energy, commitment and outstanding interpersonal skills to delivering on our priorities.

We are looking for someone with:

- In depth knowledge and experience of the education sector with a depth of understanding of curricula
- In depth understanding and knowledge of the machinery of government processes, system and governance
- In depth understanding of the education sector and the role of libraries, in contributing to educational success
- Extensive experience in providing high level strategic advice and influencing system and/or sectoral wide change
- Extensive experience in engaging with and managing relationships with senior stakeholders
- Extensive experience in senior strategic advisory role within a complex environment, preferably with a focus on partnering to effect transformative change
- Experience in leading (virtual or project) teams; mentoring and coaching others

Some national travel will be required.
