**About the role and the team**

We have an exciting permanent role for a strategic advisor to join our team.

Our team provides strategic advice to the Minister for Digital Economy and Communications and the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO).

The GCDO is a critical system leadership role established under the Public Service Act: working to embed digital mindsets, skills and technology into the Public Service. The GCOD works alongside agency chief executives to address system-wide issues

In this pivotal role you will work as part of a part of a team focused on whole of government digital strategies and initiatives. You will provide strategic high-quality advice, guidance and insights into how we can modernise the public service to meet the demands of operating in this ever-changing digital landscape.

You will be part of a team of experienced, expert, passionate people providing strategic advice who work collaboratively to get the work done to benefit New Zealand.

**What will you bring to the role?**

You will have the ability to navigate complex situations with ease and bring demonstrated ability to work at pace to deliver smart solutions and recommendation to time critical requests.

In this role you will:

- influence outcomes by contributing to ambitious innovation projects and work programmes
- bring rigorous conceptual and analytical skills to analysis and advice to achieve outcomes and deliver value
- have exemplary written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience in developing concise, arcuate and audience appropriate briefs and reports
- are likely to have a good level of understanding in Te Reo Māori: we are committed to increasing our cultural confidence as an organisation
- have excellent time management skills, including an ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- be able to drive a consistent and coordinated approach to stakeholder engagement, with a strong understanding of inter-agency processes.
- identify trends and emerging issues and opportunities.

To succeed you will be a motivated self-starter who thrives in an agile environment while being comfortable to challenge the status quo.
