The Behaviour Analysis Programme is located within the School of Psychology. Our psychology training is based on the Scientist Practitioner Model with the philosophy which emphasises the value of research as well as recognises that existing research knowledge must be adapted to the needs of any client as well as to the distinctiveness of the Aotearoa/New Zealand context.
Our teaching reflects the commitment of the programme Staff, the School of Psychology and the University to tangata whenua in terms of the Treaty of Waitangi. It is expected that, when conducting assessments, formulations and treatment interventions, students consider these and other cultural, social, and economic origins of, and solutions to, behavioural difficulties. **Job Description** Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
Behaviour analysis is a science which uses evidence-based methods derived from the principles of behaviour, to improve socially important behaviours to a meaningful degree. Worldwide demand for competent behaviour analysts exceeds current supply, especially in the education of, and remediation of behavioural problems. The Behaviour Analysis programme was the first training programme to be developed outside of the USA, and has a long history of training high-quality behaviour analysts. Our graduates are eligible to be registered as psychologists in New Zealand (the programme carries New Zealand Psychologist Board accreditation) and work in a range of areas post-graduation.
This** Professional Teaching Fellow **role will provide high-quality evidence-based teaching in the Behaviour Analysis Programme. The post-holder will contribute to the successful progress of students through the programme with a focus on applied clinical practice and teaching.
- Design of teaching materials.
- Teaching and Learning.
- Assessment, marking and timely feedback.
- Supervision of students in the clinic.
- Effective communication and involvement with initiatives.
- Leadership, including course coordination

The remuneration is PTF 1 - PTF 4: $101,696 - $132,495 per annum, dependent on experience.
This is a **part-time** 0.4FTE (16 hours per week), **permanent** position.
**Qualifications** He kōrero mōu | About you**
You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students. You will have knowledge, skills, and ability to use in practice and teach behaviour-analytic tactics based on behavioural principles. You will have an understanding of the philosophy of behaviourism and the contribution of the experimental analysis of behaviour to behaviour-analytic practice. A good understanding and awareness of process issues in supervision and practice is essential.
Essential Qualifications and Knowledge include:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Behaviour Analysis (may also be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst).
- Registration as a psychologist in Aotearoa/NZ with a current practicing certificate.
- Supervision and teaching experience
- Knowledge of the use of technologies to support learning and teaching; specifically, Microsoft Teams, Canvas, and Zoom.
- Over 2 years’ experience as a behaviour analyst / psychologist
- Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching and improving student outcomes and experience
