Creative Arts and Industries (CAI) is a respected centre for creative research, teaching and practice at The University of Auckland.

CAI offers undergraduate and postgraduate study of a wide range of creative disciplines within the Schools of Architecture and Planning, Fine Arts, Music, and the Dance Studies Programme. The School of Architecture and Planning is New Zealand’s leading educator of architects, urban planners, and urban designers, and is highly regarded for its advanced interdisciplinary study and research, innovative design focus and studio-based pedagogy. **Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

This is a unique opportunity to help realise a new vision of urban planning education at New Zealand’s top world-ranked university and pre-eminent research led institution, the University of Auckland. The School of Architecture and Planning at the University of Auckland is looking to appoint a Professional Teaching Fellow to teach and research in the field of Urban Planning with a policy development focus. As the country’s major training institution for urban planners and provider of urban planning research, your contribution will have a significant influence for current and future generations living in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally.
- The ability undertake high-quality supervision of honours and masters dissertations and thesis; and
- Support the School through working with the Head, associated academic staff, professional groups, communities and the overall urban planning profession on the delivery of School Vision.
- A professionally recognised qualification in urban planning (planning); and
- Professional experience as urban planner in the New Zealand context, with experience of urban design.
- Not essential, but preferably a full membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute or overseas equivalent; and a university postgraduate qualification in urban design.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to teach and mentor a diverse student body
- Ability to think creatively and generate creative design outcomes solutions for urban planning practice.

This is a** part-time** (8 hours per week), **permanent **role.
Remuneration: (2023) $88,000 - $132,000 (to be pro-rated for part-time) dependent on experience and qualifications
