**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The primary purpose of this role is to strengthen Te Whatu Ora communications through a deeper knowledge and understanding of te ao Māori and experience and ensuring we reflect that in our work.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Extensive experience working within Māori communities, fostering meaningful relationships.
- Proven experience in communications and engagement with a reputation for excellence and delivery.
- A strong background in policy analysis, development, and implementation and the ability to provide strategic advice, manage projects, and influence effectively.
- Is well connected to local communities and able to build effective relationships with all levels of the organisation and with stakeholders and of Matauranga Māori; an ability to walk in both worlds is ideal, or on an evidencable path to gaining this knowledge and capability.

We are working towards a system that better meets the complex demands of a growing population, addresses the persistent inequalities experienced by Māori and ensures greater access, experience, and outcomes for those traditionally not well served by the system - Māori, Pacific and Disabled People.
