This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor to join our dynamic in-house legal team This role can be based at our Dunsandel manufacturing site or our Christchurch city office (travel would be required to Dunsandel at times).

The role of Legal Counsel is to provide legal support to the in-house legal team within Synlait Milk and its management and staff.

You will be the liaison with and report to management, internal staff and external individuals and organisations on a wide range of legal and compliance matters. You will prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts and agreements, letters, correspondence and advice notes.

The role will negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and customers, resolving issues and responding to queries. You will assist with internal compliance, risk management and insurance (including listed company compliance matters, investor relations and reporting).

You will be undertaking legal research, training and advising the Company on a wide range of legal matters as required as well as assisting with reporting, file management, matter progress lists, maintaining registers and developing and maintaining templates.

**Qualifications**
- A tertiary qualification at law (LLB)
- Currently holding a practising certificate issued by the New Zealand Law Society or the ability to obtain one in a timely manner

**Experience**
- 2 - 4 years PQE as a minimum, with relevant experience in a well-respected legal practice or other in-house role
- Corporate & commercial or generalist experience preferable
