- “Tangata ako ki te kāinga ki runga marae, tū ana, tau ana”_

We are looking for an experienced academic to lead and co-ordinate our Adult Community Education (ACE) programme, and the Te Pouhono suite of programmes that are delivered on marae across the North Island. These programmes are designed to support whanau, hapū, and iwi to strengthen all aspects to Te Ao Māori through the context of their own unique local lenses.

You will also be responsible for academic programme quality including oversight of student evaluations, changes to the programmes and resources, reporting on outcomes and ensuring that students receive regular and helpful feedback. You will have input to the review and development of current and future ACE and Te Pouhono programmes, manage a team of seven staff working closely with hapū, iwi, and marae coordinators and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
- At least two years academic leadership experience in the tertiary sector.
- Experience co-ordinating marae-centred programmes, as well as experience monitoring NZQA accredited programmes.
- A degree in a relevant field, e.g., Matauranga Māori, Māori Development, Te Reo Māori, or Māori Education. A master’s is preferred.
- A teaching qualification, and relevant adult teaching experience,
- Established hapū and iwi networks across the North Island.
- A current, unrestricted private motor vehicle licence.
