At Jacobs, our Power Generation and Storage Solutions Team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation, and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:
Our Energy Generation and Storage Solutions business in New Zealand is expanding, currently seeking a Principal Solar Engineer.

You’ll join a globally connected, multidisciplinary team of industry experts and mentors. The team is managed by a female leader of our ANZ business who is passionate about the energy transition and diversity and part of Jacobs team for nearly 20 years, you’ll also be supported by a local Team Lead too.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop your career and influence our business whilst working on Solar projects through the full cycle of development from concept, through construction, to operation, collaborating with our Technical Directors and specialists.

We have offices in Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington, or perhaps you’d prefer to work remotely, part time, or are considering returning to New Zealand. This role will interface with clients and we’re hoping to find someone that has considerable work experience in the following areas, however if you do not meet all the role requirements, please attach a cover letter and tell us why you’re suitable:

- Knowledge and experience of the Solar energy sector, with previous experience in consulting or client-facing roles highly regarded.
- Motivated and willing to engage with clients, deliver proposals and lead projects (travelling to site as required).
- Some exposure or willingness to grow Solar farm development ability, including numerical capability, utilising software, and writing technical documents.
- Skilled in delivering Solar industry analysis, studies, and reports for Solar Projects.
- Analytical skills, with capability in Solar industry software such as PVsyst and willingness to keep updated with new technology.
- Solar project delivery including Independent/Owners or Lenders’ Engineering and project due diligence is desirable.
- Ability to work both as part of a multi-disciplinary team and autonomously, mentoring junior engineers and presenting on technical topics with colleagues.
- Relevant Engineering Degree and post graduate studies highly regarded.
