**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The Medical Services at Starship Child Health have a permanent full-time Ward Clerk position available. The position involves working fully-rostered shifts including a mixture of mornings and afternoons across a Monday - Sunday schedule
- four 3-7 pm weekday shifts and one to two 0700-1530 weekend days.

This fast-paced role includes a great amount of adaptability and prioritisation skills to cope with changing environments, great for those who thrive under pressure The role of a Ward Clerk varies day-to-day and involves a high level of contact with children, families and healthcare teams on the ward. You will be responsible for the maintenance of patient files, arranging and monitoring patient locations, communication and liaison, and assisting in ward management functions.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
- Excellent English language ability
- At least 2 years of clerical experience and experience in a front-line role
- Keyboard Skills
- Accurate Data Entry Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft products
- Superior communication skills

Previous clerical experience is essential and prior knowledge and experience with medical terminology and hospital computer systems is advantageous.
