The Nature Conservancy is a global environmental non-profit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive.

Thanks to more than a million members and the dedicated efforts of our diverse staff and over 400 scientists, we impact conservation in 76 countries and territories.

The New Zealand Country Director plays a leading role in creating the alliances and shared agendas with government agencies, iwi, private corporations, other Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) from the conservation and development sectors and other stakeholder groups to advance the strategies of The Nature Conservancy.

Reporting to the Regional Managing Director, you will lead an organisation that is experiencing growth in NZ and creating positive impact through their programmes. Working in partnership with government agencies, local authorities, NGO’s and iwi, the impact of their work can be seen in the shellfish reefs in the Hauraki Gulf, regenerative agriculture in Hawkes Bay and their work in caring for the Waikato River.

Additionally, you will be able to show that you have expertise and experience in the following areas:

- Exceptional stakeholder management skills - an ability to connect and engage with a wide range of stakeholder groups both internally and externally
- Show how you have gone about creating a high-performance culture and been able to attract and retain individuals that have added value to an organisation
- Strong commercial acumen, business development expertise and be able to create compelling business cases
- Show how you have thrived in complex environments through being able to build relationships that assist you in achieving your goals
