**The Client**:
Our client is one of New Zealand’s largest contract packaging manufacturers, as well as a leading supplier of hospitality amenity products. Their modern and busy facility packages both food and personal health products for domestic and international markets, working with over 60 different production lines Based in south central Auckland, they are conveniently located for their team, many of whom are long-standing employees.

**The Opportunity**:
With an outstanding attitude towards flexible hours for their staff, our client’s factory runs from 7.30am - 6.00pm Monday to Thursday, and from 7.30am - 4.00pm on a Friday. Are you looking for an earlier or later start? Extra hours? Hours to work around family commitments? Our client will do their best to accommodate your needs.
As a Packaging Engineer, you will be working with a huge variety of packaging and ancillary industrial equipment. This role will contribute to planned maintenance, building and setting up of new equipment, project work, redesigning of parts and machinery and process improvement. Ultimately, you are responsible for ensuring high engineering standards, reducing downtime, making sure packing lines are running at maximum performance and liaising with external contractors and management. This role also contributes to the setting up of various production lines, keeping the work diverse and hands-on.
Being in a sole charge position with a flat reporting structure, there is no reason to worry about micromanagement within this team of 6 engineers.
- Engineering experience on packaging lines within an FMCG environment is essential
- Proven skills in troubleshooting, fault finding, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding etc.
- Experience in maintenance planning
- Knowledge of setting up various FMCG production lines
- A keen attitude towards learning about new lines / machinery
- Electrical aptitude would be beneficial
- Ability to communicate at all levels of an organisation, internal and external
- Process improvement experience in an FMCG environment
- Self-starting, motivated, and independent work style
