Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
Key part of the OIA Adviser role is to support the wider Government Services team to provide a timely and accurate support on a daily basis to the Ministry and the Ministers' offices, including preparing responses to Ministerial correspondence, requests under the OIA and Privacy Act.
The OIA Adviser will also assist the team in assessing trends and issues and engage with others to seek solutions to continually improve the performance of the Ministry. This role provides a great opportunity if you are looking for a role that is stimulating and challenging.
Mōu - About You
Along with experience in writing correspondence and sound working knowledge of the Official Information Act, Privacy Act and Ministerial writing, you will have strong analytical skills and a proven track record of credibility and strong working relationships with key stakeholders. Working experience in a similar role would be valuable and sound knowledge of the machinery of government is important to be functional in this role.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Experience in a similar role, including a ministerial servicing role.
- Superior communication and writing skills
- Knowledge of the OIA and Privacy Acts
- Interest in governmental and parliamentary issues
- The ability to work well under pressure and to tight timeframes with a capacity to multi task effectively.
- A proven ability to deliver quality material on time.
- The ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work.
- Creativity and an eagerness to explore and evaluate new operational delivery practices.
- Excellent relationship management and networking skills.

About our team - Mō tō mātou rōpū
The Government Services team is responsible for the management of MPI's official correspondence and provides a crucial link between MPI and the Ministers' offices with seven portfolios, ensuring the Ministers are well supported to do their job. The team operates within a fast-paced environment, managing over 4,000 items to Ministers each year and working across MPI and its wide variety of functions. The team ensures consistency and effectiveness of official and ministerial correspondence, Official Information Act and Privacy Act requests across the business.
