Wellington City, New Zealand Beca Full time

**The opportunity**

We have a strong forward pipeline of water projects in Christchurch/Ōtautahi and Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara. This includes a wide variety of different projects—wastewater and water treatment and pump stations, pipelines, and water storage—for local and central governments and other clients. These projects include those in all stages of design and construction, as well as assisting clients with planning to meet the challenges of the future. To be part of our growth, we are looking for a Senior Process Engineer with over 7 years of experience to join either of our Christchurch/Ōtautahi or Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara teams, both in the office and across our sites within the region. In this role, you will have the chance to:

- Work with colleagues to provide cost-effective solutions to their engineering challenges.
- Your work will range from option assessments, detailed design, and construction through project commissioning and handover.
- Help deliver sustainable community outcomes through our projects by focusing on aspects such as carbon reduction and reducing wider environmental impacts.
- Design and manage the delivery of wastewater and water treatment plant projects with an emphasis on quality and service.
- Use your strong customer relationship skills to understand our clients' core businesses and ensure that our services meet their expectations.
- Provide technical advice to staff members and embrace a culture that values teamwork.
- See projects through from concept to client handover.
- Work across our New Zealand, Aotearoa, and Australia water business lines

**About you**

You are a highly motivated senior Process Engineer with a strong track record in the successful delivery of water or wastewater treatment projects in a consulting environment. You have a Bachelor of Science, Engineering, or another relevant qualification, are professionally qualified, have at least 7 years of relevant work experience, and are expected to:

- Have a strong technical focus and be able to carry out mass balances, energy balances, unit process design, produce P&IDs, and use process modelling software.
- Be able to review and support the production of specifications (including performance-based specifications), data sheets, schedules, and functional descriptions.
- Be able to or have been involved in facilitating HAZOP and Safety in Design workshops.
- Undertake a complete proposal, including scoping and fee estimates.
- Have strong communication skills to enable coordination across other disciplines and the completion of project documentation to provide cohesive delivery.
- You love to learn and share knowledge, and you are someone who can bring a fresh perspective to ensure the development of the people around you.
- You constantly seek better practises for the overall quality of our work and our client experience.
