**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
The Manager Service Design is a leadership position in MBIE. The Manager Service Design will bring their business understanding and perspective to work in partnership with the Service Design team, the Director Design and Insights and across the Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery group.

The position is responsible for oversight and leadership of the day-to-day work of the Service Design team. Robust critical thinking, impartial advice, thought leadership, systems and design thinking, and innovative rapid design techniques are also essential to this role.

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Experience in managing people in a changing and complex environment
- Experience in coaching and mentoring people to achieve results and personal growth
- Strong stakeholder relationship development and management
- A strategic outlook with the intellectual capability to analyse large, complex issues and quickly identify immediate needs, barriers and risks
- A high level of experience in service design and a proven track record in leading large work programmes, taking into account both strategic and operational needs
- Demonstrated ability to use systems thinking to identify and effectively manage opportunities to maximise outcomes
- A working understanding of the current government focuses and the implications for policy development and how this may impact service delivery
