**About The Company**:
Our client is a family-owned sheet metal / stainless steel fabrication company that has been around since the 1970s. They have become a stand-alone company servicing the sheet metal industry in particular lift business and construction companies, manufacturing steel doors and frames. As a family-orientated company, our client holds traditional values of honesty, integrity and prides themselves on providing a high level of customer service.
**About The Opportunity**:
They are looking for a **Site Coordinator **to join their company in** New Lynn, Auckland**, although you will be on multiple sites around the city and often not in the office.
You will be rewarded with a negotiable base salary + Company Car and Mobile Phone.
The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate the daily site operations as the go-between person for the project managers and site installers. This is a 50/50 role of site coordination and installation as required.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Regular site visits to monitor progress
- Delivering materials to and from site as needed when the truck is not available
- Working on the tools as needed
- Co-ordinating work activities with site installers, including solving problems
- Being the key contact between their factory and site workers
**About You**:
Additionally, you will have:
- A thorough knowledge of the construction industry
- Good organisational skills as well as great communication skills
- Carpentry/cabinet making/interior fit out skills an advantage although not necessary
- Professional manner as you will be in contact with customers regularly onsite
- Comprehension of basic plans and shop drawings helpful
- The ability to lead a team but also trust your team so you don’t have to micro-manage
