**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
As a Workforce Systems Intern at Auckland Council, you will play a crucial role in supporting our HR team to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our HR systems. This internship offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the inner workings of a large public sector organisation, where you will gain valuable insights and hands-on experience in HR technology.
You will gain exposure to SAP SuccessFactors, Workday and ServiceNow HR Service Delivery.
You will be involved in a variety of tasks that will help you develop a comprehensive understanding of HR systems and their impact on organisational efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with the maintenance and optimisation of our HR tools, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting the implementation of new system features. You will also have the chance to collaborate with different departments, providing you with a broad perspective on how HR systems support various functions within the council.

Embark on a journey of professional growth and hands-on experience with the Auckland Council Internship Programme. Designed for students in their penultimate year of a bachelor's degree, or in a continued masters programme, this paid three-month summer internship, running from 18th November 2024 to 14 February 2025, offers full-time work that aligns with your field of study.
You'll engage in meaningful work, contributing to the development of Auckland as a world-class city, while receiving career development opportunities.
As an intern, you'll be immersed in a supportive environment, with mentorship and networking opportunities that pave the way for a potential future within the council. You’ll be part of Auckland Council’s internship whānau and will be supported every step of the way by a team who want you to succeed including a buddy, liaison, Careers Team, and the wider intern cohort.
Upon completion, interns may receive priority consideration for the Graduate Programme, setting the stage for a robust career start.

You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and departments. Your proactive attitude and enthusiasm for learning make you a valuable team player who can work independently and contribute meaningfully to projects. You are eager to support the HR team at Auckland Council by maintaining and optimising HR systems, ensuring data accuracy, and assisting in the implementation of new system features.
- Be in your penultimate year studying towards a relevant Bachelor's degree, or continuing into a Master’s level of study in 2025.
