Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
You will be a Senior Leader within the Te Pou Mahi Pūnaha | System Performance Directorate. The directorate is responsible for the monitoring of health and disability system planning, funding and performance.
As Group Manager, you will provide support to the Deputy Director-General with assurance that key components of the system (workforce, investment including financial management systems, and clinical quality and safety) are performing effectively, separately and together, and are making best use of financial and other resources to achieve improved outcomes. You will exercise stewardship and leadership within the Ministry and across the health sector on these system elements, and lead your teams to provide well-grounded, action-focused advice.
You will be responsible for building an integrated view of Crown entity and system performance across the issues in workforce, investment and clinical quality and safety, and supporting the wider Ministry across the planning and accountability cycle to undertake actions to set system direction and advise changes as needed. You will ensure the drivers of system element trends are well understood and monitored. You will convene efforts to ensure the right focus and priority is applied to course corrections, and that the level of focus on these elements of the system is sufficient for Aotearoa New Zealand needs now and in the future.

- Demonstrated leadership experience in the health sector, with financial management experience an advantage
- Significant experience in a senior level position with a wide span of control and leading leaders
- Previous significant experience in service delivery and business transformation and improvement
- Excellent relationship management skills and ability to lead across groups with diverse interests and perspectives.
