**Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity**
As the Mātauranga Māori and Engagement Lead you will be responsible for building strong relationships with whānau Māori in the community. This is an opportunity to lead the development of programmes and services that are culturally appropriate and meet the specific needs of Māori. Demonstrate your manaakitanga by fostering a welcoming environment that reflects Māori values and Tikanga. This role is pivotal in strengthening relationships with Māori stakeholders and will contribute to the organisations wider bi-cultural development, including supporting the preservation of Māori heritage.
**Mōu Ake | About You**
Ideally you will have a background in Māori studies, history or teaching and be passionate about creating engaging programmes the support and uplift Mātauranga Māori. You will be a natural connecter and thrive in an environment where you can lead engagement with iwi, hapu, and the wider community.
- Knowledge of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Stakeholder engagement and ability to build ongoing relationships both internally and externally. Established relationships with Te Arawa hapū and iwi (highly desirable)
- Familiarity with Māori heritage/ taonga Māori and Mātauranga Māori
- Te Reo Māori translation (highly desirable)
