**Mō tēnei mahi | About this job**

Join us as a **permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) Kaiako - Te Pōkaitahi o te Ao Tikanga - Rongoā (NZ Certificate in Rongoā, Level 4). **This position starts in January 2025.

You’ll plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the marau, adapting your teaching to meet the diverse needs of tauira. You’ll create a collaborative, inclusive environment based on Whanaungatanga, Ako, Aro, and Te Hiringa. Responsibilities include recruiting tauira, developing materials, supervising activities like Noho and Wānanga.

You’ll assess tauira progress, maintain records, and collaborate with support teams to ensure success. With your guidance, tauira will achieve their goals, complete their studies, and make a meaningful contribution to their communities.

**Mōu | About you**

This role is vital in empowering tauira to deepen their understanding of traditional Māori healing within a supportive and culturally rich learning environment.

You will bring with you:

- Diploma in Mātauranga Māori related to Rongoā/Hauora Māori that demonstrates equivalence for NZQA standards assessed in this programme OR A written endorsement from a Māori organisation and/or recognised kaumātua confirming an advanced ability and knowledge of te reo me ngā āhuatanga Māori (Rongoā/Hauora) can be considered in lieu of a recognised qualification in Mātauranga Māori. However, study towards the required qualification or an accreditation confirmation may be a requirement upon employment
- NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent
- Either attest equivalence for NZQA standards required to assess and moderate this programme OR hold the NZ Certificate in Assessment Practice (L4)
- Full and current NZ Driver Licence
- 3+ years of experience using traditional Māori healing methods or relevant work related to the practice of Rongoā Māori
- 3+ years of experience in adult teaching

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
