The opportunity:
The Portfolio Delivery Practice Lead is pivotal to successful delivery of AIA’s strategic initiatives having responsibility for overseeing all portfolio project management activities within the Portfolio Delivery Office.

The Portfolio Delivery Practice Lead is responsible for embedding a strong delivery framework and practices, capability and a culture that promotes quality and value through good governance, transparency, continuous improvement and collaboration.

More specifically, the Portfolio Delivery Practice Lead will support the Head of Portfolio Delivery with the following:
- Ensure that project management processes and tools are fit for purpose, and executed with due regard to AIA’s risk appetite, legal, regulatory and conduct obligations.- Develop a highly engaged and motivated workforce with a continuous improvement mindset.- Embed agile ways of working with the aim of efficiency and speed to market.- Supply and demand management of project resources across the portfolio.- Management reporting.

About the role

Leadership and Team Management- Provide continuous oversight of all key initiatives with a focus on supporting programme/project managers to demonstrate to do the right thing in the right way.- Drive a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within the team with a focus on risk management, compliance, continued learning and innovation.- In partnership with the PDO Leadership team, ensure that performance meets expectations and take remedial action where required.

Project Management Capability- Manage AIA’s Project Management Playbook which articulates our project lifecycle, standards, templates and practices to ensure that these are appropriately documented, embedded, operating as expected and continuously reviewed.- Embed disciplines that promote good governance, collaboration amongst teams, transparency and traceability of key decisions.- Ensure that project management practices operate in line with risk appetite, and adhere to relevant policies, frameworks and legislation/regulation, and comply with financial controls requirements.

Delivery Planning & Monitoring- Lead the delivery of the enterprise view of the project delivery roadmap, risk, issues, and constraints including agreeing sequencing to effectively manage change and risk impacts. This includes:
- Development of a master portfolio schedule, tracking key milestones across the portfolio and programmes.-
- Overseeing the project and portfolio pipeline with a view to ensure efficient delivery through sequencing, and resource planning and utilisation activities.-
- Mapping and maintaining interdependence linkages to ensure consideration of logic and mutual exclusivity in portfolio selection, and portfolio risk during delivery-
- Participating in pre-project planning to enable broader sequencing considerations and optimization.-
- Ensure early identification and management of delivery issues, risks, and dependencies across portfolio by working closely with peers, capability leads, Business Owners, and Technology.

Portfolio Resource Forecasting and Utilisation- Oversee continuous resource planning and management initiatives to enable efficient setup of project teams, and optimum allocation and utilisation of resources.- Monitor and review overall resource utilisation and forecast requirements for project delivery taking in various inputs including, but not limited to resource interdependencies to ensue maximisation of resource utilisation and allocation of appropriate resources across the portfolio to ensure on time delivery.- Working closely with peers, capability leads, Business Owners, and Technology to balance the relative priorities of resources, as existing work is either completed or cancelled, or when new scope or requirements are identified with high priority levels.- Lead portfolio reporting and insights activities and provide assurance over capability, utilisation and forecasting.

Risk- Actively role model the right risk behaviours by speaking up if something isn't right, reporting all matters issues and incidents, upholding my obligations when it comes to risk and compliance and completing mandatory learning on time- Foster a safe and open environment to ensure delivery teams feel comfortable raising any concerns and are heard.- Ensure that operational and compliance risks and controls are appropriately identified, documented, and managed in line with AIA’s risk appetite.
