The primary responsibilities of the Technical Market Development Manager are to manage company Bio Pharma R&D Project Prioritization for NZ, the NPI and line extension program, phase IV projects including prioritization of projects, conducting Bio Pharma trials and collaborating on our company’s Animal Health trials, publishing results and training staff across ANZ.

Of critical importance to the successful execution of this role is the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, end users, Contract Research Organizations, Industry Funding Bodies, State Department of Primary Industries, Universities and other third-party companies.

The Technical Market Development Manager sits within the ANZ Animal Health organization and reports to the ANZ Technical Market Development Lead. This role is based in New Zealand and will work across the ANZ Business.

**What You Will Do**

**Responsibilities include, however not limited to**:

- Preparation of budgets, programs and expenditure plans for NZ Technical Market Development projects.
- Monthly review and report on projects and critically examine performance of projects and programs against targets
- Working with the ANZ Leadership team to develop overall sectors strategy.
- Working with Business Unit Leads to develop and maintain Bio Pharma and our company’s Animal Health NPI schedules for the NZ Business.
- Working with Business Unit and Technical Service Leads to develop Biopharma Phase IV trial strategies and Animal Health trial strategies for key segments of the ANZ Business.
- Working with the NZ Product and Technology Innovation Specialist for Animal Health to ensure features of new innovation are fit for purpose in the NZ market
- Identify and pursue new R&D business opportunities.
- Conduct Phase IV Biopharma trials and collaborate on Animal Health trials, publish results (internal or external) and train relevant staff to present and utilize the results across ANZ.
- Ensure local and global PV procedures are followed across all aspects of Post Authorisation Studies.
- Ensure all trial work is conducted in a Compliant manner - Executing study agreements with external researchers, training of external study investigators and research staff, drafting of protocols, attaining Animal Ethics approval, detection and reporting of potential PV information and the finalisation of study reports.
- Maintain and report on market trends, competitor’s activities and other market information relating to new markets/products.
- Establish and build relations with National and International Key Opinion Leaders.
- Provide a Technical Oversight resource to the field based Technical Service Advisors to enable and facilitate scientific review and intercompany communication involving technical discussion.

**What You Must Have**
- Tertiary or equivalent qualifications in Agricultural Science or Veterinary Science required, Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
- Prior work experience with a commercial animal health company is desirable, as is a demonstrated prior experience in new product development and Technical Service.
- Possess superior negotiating skills, and excellent time, planning and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present and communicate in both written and verbal forms.
- Be resilient, detailed and creative.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work on own and clearly demonstrate initiative.
- Ability to manage demands, targets, guidelines, and high stress situations.
- Possess excellent networking and business acquisition skills.
- Be consistent, dependable and efficient.
- Possess advanced leadership and organizational skills.
- Complex project management experience
- A broad understanding of dairy farming, including but not limited to seasonal processes, animal behaviour, shed and yard layouts, animal records and tagging as well as the milking process is advantageous.
