**Welcome to the Media and PR Team
**The Group Media and PR function exists to build Woolworths Group’s brand, drive advocacy and support its reputation - creating better experiences for customers, team members and communities for a better tomorrow.

**What you’ll do:
**As the Head of Media and PR for NZ, you will report directly to the Woolworths Group Brand and Marketing Director and Group PR and Media Relations Practice Lead. You will manage the corporate media relations and consumer public relations for the Group’s NZ business (Woolworths Supermarkets, FreshChoice, MilkRun, Primary Connect NZ). The role will work with the NZ Brand and Marketing function to integrate PR activity into the customer calendar and at major brand moments throughout the year.

You will drive best practice media relations and PR in New Zealand for Woolworths Group while actively supporting the development of the team within NZ (up to 4 people approximately) alongside supporting wider Group initiatives across ANZ.

**Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Leading and overseeing the development and delivery of communications plans to support and positively promote Woolworths Group’s brand advocacy with customers, team members, stakeholders and communities in New Zealand
- Providing strategic media advice to manage reputational risk for issues within the New Zealand market
- Developing and managing relationships with key internal stakeholders to positively influence business decisions in NZ to maximise community trust and enhance our brand advocacy - with a focus on media and external channels
- Providing media advice and counsel to key stakeholders through media training programs for key spokespeople
- Closely monitoring media, stakeholder and regulatory landscape to identify and share emerging opportunities and risks with key stakeholders
- Supporting the Director of Group Brand and practice lead on critical media and stakeholder matters and work alongside the Australian Head of Media and PR on Group wide announcements.
- Managing Woolworths’ relationship with key business, consumer and retail media outlets (reporters, producers and editors) in New Zealand
- Overseeing and clearing day to day media relations in the press office in New Zealand
- Outlining and explaining Woolworths Group public positions externally and acting as one of the primary points of contact for media in New Zealand
- Developing proactive and reactive communications plans to support business goals of Woolworths Group in New Zealand
- Participating in after hours and weekend on-call roster (on rotation between team members)
- Leading media relations and communications delivery on major external issues and crisis situations as required in New Zealand. This may include after hours involvement.Overseeing the team that manages community partnerships and programs for Woolworths in NZ and integrating PR and pro-active brand campaigns in partnerships with the brand and marketing team

**What you will bring:
- A deep and sophisticated understanding of the NZ media landscape at a national and regional level
- Understanding of different delivery needs for both the consumer audience and business/industry audience
- Consumer facing brand experience is preferred
- Understanding of community partnerships and strategies to drive advocacy through community program
- Demonstrated ability to work in large complex matrixed environment
- Strong experience leading busy media and comms teams to deliver exceptional work on tight timelinesBroad experience covering both B2B and B2C markets, with a strong track record in delivery of consumer facing PR campaigns
