**About the role**

With a significant increase in production orders at the Manurewa site, there is a critical need to create a new shift in the QC laboratory - the Night Shift. Reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager, we are looking for a hands-on leader to lead this newly created team of 3 analytical chemists while also picking up their own testing and data review activities.

As a team, you will support our manufacturing business to ensure raw materials and finished products are tested to meet the highest level of quality standards and business requirements through not only QC tasks, but also QA, HSE and Logistics responsibilities.

**Your key duties will include**:

- Growing and developing the team to strengthen capability
- Providing training and troubleshooting expertise
- Ensuring successful resolution of laboratory investigations
- Driving continuous improvement within your team
- Championing a quality culture
- Leading Health and Safety initiatives
- Performing analytical testing, calibrations, and data review

**About you**

We are looking for someone who would be described as an up-and-coming leader. Someone who may be still in the early stages of leadership or a senior wanting to take on people leadership responsibilities. Due to the hours of the role, this leader will need to be a top-notch communicator and be able to make critical decisions in a busy, changing environment.

You are someone who can foster collaborative working relationships and don’t mind jumping in to assist with analytical and QA activities that your team are overall responsible for.

**Your background, experience and attributes will include**:

- Relevant tertiary science qualification
- Work experience within a GMP science manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated people leadership experience
- Sound technical knowledge of analytical test methods and instrumentations specifically HPLC, GC & AAS
- Ability to communicate and collaborate across multiple teams
- Highly organised with the ability to be flexible and resilient to change
- Proven analytical and logical problem-solving capabilities
