Belong Aotearoa is a Charitable Trust that has been supporting individuals and families with migrant and refugee backgrounds in Aotearoa for 20 years. Their mission is to drive transformational change to improve inclusion, belonging and wellbeing to refugee-background and migrant communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.

This is an exciting time to lead the organisation as Chief Executive Officer. The organisation has undergone significant change over the last few years moving from a programme delivery service organisation to being a leader in systems change, working at both a grassroots and policy level. An excellent team is in place to deliver on the strategy, and are supported by an evidenced Theory of Change, a wide range of collaboration partners, and a current business plan.

You will be someone who is passionate about ensuring refugee-background and migrant communities are able to achieve their highest aspirations, You will have a sound understanding of the principles of systems change and the ability to provide both organisation and community leadership.

This position is full time, with a competitive salary, and is based in Auckland

**Person Profile**:

- Senior leadership experience in a volunteer, not for profit or community-based environment.
- Strong business acumen, fundraising and financial management skills.
- Demonstrable ability to think and act strategically and transformatively in a leadership role.
- Track record of managing staff to a high level of effectiveness and motivation.
- Senior leadership capability to develop and maintain a working culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability.
- A good understanding of tikanga Māori and a commitment to the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- An understanding of Aotearoa refugee and migration issues.
- Excellent public communication skills, and ability to inspire and persuade a wide variety of different audiences including public and decision-makers.
- Experience of campaigning to advance strategic policy objectives.
- Demonstrable media and/or political savvy.
- Experience of implementing good monitoring and evaluation practices.
