We are seeking to appoint a Procurement Lead on a permanent full-time contract to work within the Digital Data and Technology commercial delivery team (DDaT) leading procurements for this critical and market leading category.

You will be based in either our Leeds or London office helping to deliver our ambition - working together to harness the power of the marketplace to deliver maximum value to our healthcare system. We do this to enable NHSE to support NHS staff at work, help people get the best care, and use the nation's health data to drive research and transform services.

The role requires demonstrable commercial experience operating with a diverse group of senior stakeholders and have effective consultancy skills to gain credibility quickly; understanding and digesting complex and detailed information in order to offer advice and expertise and have that well-received through strong stakeholder engagement.

Leads DDaT complex procurements setting out the timeline, risks, mitigations, and deliverables, involving other professionals and teams when needed.
Manages complex and high value negotiations, finalising major deals, escalating only where necessary to secure progress or improve outcomes.
Applies developed ability to draft bespoke terms and conditions to work outside established frameworks.
Identifies and acts on opportunities for innovation to secure organisational improvement and the management of assets (e.g., intellectual property).
Applies judgement and manages risks to drive value for money and ensure robust outcomes during procurement.

You must demonstrate the rounded communications and engagement skills that is likely to result in successfully influencing outcomes.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Some of the key skills and experience you'll bring to the role:
Driven, highly motivated individual with extensive experience of managing a range of commercial lifecycle activities, ideally from within the public sector.

Broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to public sector procurement and contract management with MCIPS, IACCM Advanced Practitioner OR equivalent qualifications or experience.

Results orientated, able to manage conflicting priorities and deliver high-quality work to strict deadlines

Excellent communication skills, ability to impart complex information effectively to internal and external stakeholders with varying degrees of technical knowledge and at all management levels

Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring the best commercial results

Experience of working with commercially sensitive and highly confidential information in accordance with all regulatory and any contractual obligations

Experience of using a procurement and contract management software solution to support own workload and facilitate accurate and reliable reporting

Experience in managing and leading commercial projects, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed and communications
