You will be part of a team that provides the full range of accounting support to the Council's business units and a number of Council Controlled Organisations. You will have the opportunity to enhance your skills in financial accounting, tax and corporate reporting.

The Council is an Approved Training Organisation and will provide support and mentoring to those seeking to gain full membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA). We also support your journey to becoming a CAANZ ACCA or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) depending on your career goals.

To be successful in this role you will be working toward or have a degree or diploma majoring in Accounting or Finance. You will have practical accounting experience in a medium to large organisation, be comfortable using SAP and/or Xero, have created or have an understanding of financial reports, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Your ability to communicate and take a customer-focused approach will be a strength as will your willingness to work as part of a collaborative team. This role will ideally suit a person who will hit the ground running and has worked in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
