Trade Assist are a national labour and recruitment company. We are a family owned and operated business and have branches in Christchurch (head office), Dunedin, Wellington, and Auckland along with several associated companies within the group.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced accounts assistant or management accountant to add to the skill and capacity of the finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be a proactive person, who has strong management accounting skills and loves building excellent internal business relationships. You’ll enjoy the flexibility and challenges that come from working within a small and dynamic team.

**Key responsibilities in the role include**:

- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable, Invoicing & Credit Management & Control
- Providing payroll backup.
- GST and bank reconciliations.
- End of month accounting functions.
- Preparation and analysis of budgets.
- Health and Life Insurance program reconciliation and management.
- Providing accounting support to branch managers

**What you will need to be successful**:

- Previous proven experience with management accounting and financial reporting in a complex multi company environment.
- Advanced excel skills, including complex formulas and pivot tables and a willingness to learn excel based financial modelling tools (Modano).
- Excellent relationship and written & verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and a natural multitasker
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills
- The ability to continuously identify areas of improvement and think outside the square
