Our roads are busy, and not just with cars - help keep Palmy moving
The Corridor Access Manager co-ordinates works and activities on, around and under our City’s roads to ensure that disruptions are minimised. As an effective, confident communicator you’ll spend a lot of your time monitoring, auditing, and providing advice to those undertaking work to ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities and that they are working in-line with Council’s policies and procedures - particularly around Traffic Management and Health and Safety.
You’ll also need to be proactive, well organised and have a good level of attention to detail to ensure that you adequately plan and communicate current and future work programmes in conjunction with relevant parties such as service utility providers. Your skills as a pragmatic problem solver will also ensure that work gets completed efficiently through balancing regulations and requirements with common sense.
This role offers a great balance between being out in the field and office work, and gives you plenty of scope to utilise your knowledge of Civil Engineering and STMS with your practical experience. Council also offers the opportunity to undertake further relevant study.
TYPICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES: Knowledge (qualifications and experience)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction (Civil, Transportation, Building Services) or equivalent
- Expert knowledge of NZTA land transport rules and CoPTTM rules (Desirable)
- Knowledge of Council policies and rules for CAR management (Desirable)
- Sound understanding of road construction and trench reinstatement, and impact of poor
- quality work on the transport network performance.
- Sound understanding of the principles of asset management
- Computer literate with understanding of CAR management software (eg Sumitica)
- Experience in bringing together and working with multi-disciplinary teams to create collaborative solutions
- Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills
- Holds current NZ Drivers Licence
