Provide support to all contract operations as a Network Inspector position, based out of the Downer Whanganui Depot. Form part of a team engaged in providing transport services in all types of civil engineering and road corridor maintenance.

**About the role**:
As a Network Inspector with Downer NZ, you’ll be our eyes and ears - responsible for identifying and logging faults of network carriageway and corridor assets. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

- Road inspections, recording fault defects and proposing suitable solutions
- Identification of risks and corrective actions where required
- Audit completed work by own crews and third-party contractors with a focus on quality and safety
- Assist in the development of maintenance programmes and provide support to our maintenance team
- Ensure project operations achieve a superior level of safety performance
- Provide support to field staff on field programming tools such as Pocket RAMM.
- Occasionally assist with call-out work.
- Occasionally take part in pilot programmes to test new technology to enhance the way we inspect the roading network.

This role is a full-time, permanent position, primarily working Monday to Friday - however, occasional travel away from home to carry out inspections may be required.

**About you**:
Along with your positive attitude and your motivation to make a difference in the community, there are a few essentials skills that we’ll appreciate you bringing into this role:

- A Full Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence
- Ideally, you will have experience in road maintenance, road construction or a similar field
- Experience in network inspection and fault identification is beneficial
- Clear communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Experienced in RAMM software or the ability to learn computer systems
- Commitment to a high standard of Health & Safety
