As a member of the NZ Warehouse & Distribution team, this role is responsible for the day-to-day distribution operations across all NZ warehouses, to ensure efficient and timely freight movements to meet or exceed customer expectations in line with agreed commercial solutions across New Zealand. The position is accountable to identify and support process improvements, ensure operational compliance with relevant legislation and deliver a cost-efficient, high quality, safe and CoR/DG compliant supply chain.
**Responsibilities**:
- Strategically Position Business to Win - A team member in creating and implement a best practice freight & distribution strategy, embedding the right policies, processes, procedures, and technology to move our performance towards the full potential. Continuously seek improvement opportunities to simplify, such as identify and eliminate non-value adding activity, with the intent to simplify, reduce cost, improve service levels and delivery quality.
- Freight -Plan and manage outbound freight program ensuring a cost effective, simplified freight solution that delivers to our agreed differentiated SLA's driving customer satisfaction improvements. Chase claims, close out NCRs and manage Invoice processing. Prepare data for and organise quarterly supplier reviews.
- Shipping - Provide visibility of inbound containers to warehouses and work with Purchasing and Inwards teams to prioritise devanning.
- Continuous Improvement - Have a continuous improvement mindset, to identify cost improvement and process opportunities across all operations to address safety, quality, and efficiency. Play a supporting role in implementing Inventory management changes including analysis. Doing so by rigorous and methodical use of the ITW Toolbox.
- Reporting - Establish weekly / monthly freight and shipping reports and produce any additional specific reporting necessary to manage and inform the business units regarding freight and shipping across New Zealand. Other Systems reports and analysis as required by the business.
- Training & Education - Design, implement processes and procedures ensuring all required personnel are trained and proficient at operating and maintain adherence.
**To be successful in this position you will have**:
- Deliver day to day operational outcomes and the ability to influence team members and stake holders to deliver results;
- The ability to leverage and enhance current systems and tools to drive improved outcomes;
- Has operated across a multi-site distribution network to deliver a standardized process;
- Has experience working with Transport Management Systems;
- Strong track record of developing key supplier relationships and extracting maximum value;
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on creating simplified streamlined processes;
- Strong knowledge of B2B, B2C and Retail store delivery transport operations;
- The ability to design streamlined processes and define roles and responsibilities that deliver efficient, accurate practices; and
- Understanding of financial drivers and levers within an operational environment and can balance operational and strategic deliverables.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Degree qualification in Logistics or related discipline
