Te Mana o te Taiao - the Aotearoa New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy 2020 (ANZBS), was initiated for the protection, restoration and sustainable use of biodiversity, particularly indigenous biodiversity, in Aotearoa New Zealand from 2020 to 2050.

The Department of Conservation provides system leadership for the implementation of Te Mana o te Taiao, enabling cross-agency collaboration and system outcomes for our Treaty partners and partnering Māori organisations.

Be part of the movement to protect and restore indigenous biodiversity in New Zealand from 2020 to 2050. As a Governance and Engagement Advisor, you'll be at the heart of this significant multi-sector program.

We have an opportunity for a Governance and Engagement Advisor to join our team on a 12-month, fixed term/ secondment opportunity. Whilst we would preference a Wellington location, other locations will be considered. Please indicate in your covering letter where you'd prefer to be based.

Working within a small and agile team, you will:

- Coordinate engagement and governance activities
- Provide logistics and communications support.
- Secretariat support for inter-agency working groups.
- Prepare meeting agendas and status reports.
- Represent DOC in various sectors and organisations.

Key to your success will be your ability to work with and through others to deliver on your work to deadlines and representing DOC at working teams across the sectors and organisations.

**We're keen to hear from you if you have the following experience**:

- Sound understanding of government machinery and secretariat functions.
- Inquisitive mind with excellent coordination skills.
- Ability to distil information to support program outcomes.
- Stellar verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong influencing and relationship-building abilities.
- Collaborative, cross-functional approach to work.
