Part of a small, agile and dynamic team the Senior Advisor works closely with the Principal Advisor and other Senior Advisors across the motu to build and uplift Māori Capability for Te Puni Kōkiri. This position reports to the Kaiārahi, Te Raukaha Hunga Mahi - Manager, Workforce Capability and is based in Pōneke, Wellington.

They facilitate, lead and champion the delivery of initiatives set out in the Te Puni Kōkiri Māori Capability programme - Te Māpurapura for all kaimahi. Working with ngā puni, they identify and resolve gaps in capability and assess and manage business risks that might arise out of their day-to-day mahi.

Part of the role involves analysing trends and reporting.

**Mōu | About you**

The Senior Advisor, Māori Capability has significant understanding of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga and has experience using this knowledge to assist in the design and delivery of Māori capability initiatives. We are looking for:

- Experience operating at a senior advisor level can articulate skills as outlined in the position description
- Excellent standard of written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate to clearly and succinctly. A level of competency in te reo Māori or willingness to learn
- Experience developing and implementing programmes and leading interventions that facilitate performance using Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga
- Ability to conduct training needs analysis for cultural capability ngā puni
- Comfortable working in an ao Māori environment and in situations where tikanga is observed
- Understanding the effectiveness of Māori capability through the utilisation of effective frameworks; its integration with our role as a government agency; and its alignment with the goals of Te Puni Kōkiri and the expectations of whānau, iwi and hapū.
