**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Advisor to support the General Manager Immigration Compliance and Investigations and the wider leadership team to help take the already high performing group to group to another level. The team has a diverse remit, covering everything from delivering a high-quality triage and allocation function, Compliance and Investigations including complex deportations and investigating serious breaches of the Immigration and Crimes Act. We also support our system with regulatory stewardship and high-quality practice.

We need somebody to come on board and use their strategic nous, policy knowledge and relationship management skills to work closely with the leadership team on projects and initiatives that are key to developing and delivering on the branches' strategic agenda and performance. This is a recently created branch within Te Whakatairanga, so there is a real opportunity to develop and shape the role as you go.

To be successful you will need to be a proven credible and trusted advisor with a demonstrated ability to deal with complex and emerging issues that contain a high level of ambiguity as well as being experienced in managing senior level relationships across both the private and public sectors.

- Partnering with the General Manager and wider leadership team to lead and drive key mahi and initiatives and supporting the stakeholder and cross Government relationships.
- Connecting across the system and identifying where attention is required, and that appropriate action is initiated.
- Bringing and representing a cross-system view on key priority areas and initiatives and looking for synergies across multiple regulatory systems
