Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
The Governance and Accountability (G&A) team manages the Treasury's governance system to support organisational leadership, enabling effective decision making and informing the Treasury's strategic direction and work programme. We also provide business assurance and lead the delivery of the Treasury's external reporting commitments.
The Team Leader will be responsible for the team's ministerial engagement, working closely with the Minister of Finance and his Office, the Office of the Secretary and ELT. They will also have responsibility for supporting the team to embed the Treasury's governance structure, playing a key strategic role in helping to guide decision-making at senior levels.
The Team Leader will also help to support wellbeing and grow the team's capability. The role will involve managing at least three staff and contributing to the team's strategy, work programme, prioritisation and management.
The role offers the opportunity to interact with a diverse range of people including the Minister of Finance and his office staff, ELT and Kaiurungi, and teams across the Treasury.
Ō pūmanawa | About You
This opportunity would suit a someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills, an understanding of machinery of government and political nous, who is looking to build on their existing people leadership experience.
You will also need to be able to credibly engage with and influence senior decision makers, be solutions-focussed and respond quickly to feedback, with the ability to foster collaboration and innovation others. Please see JD for more details.
