Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Join the Office of the Chief Executive as a Governance Advisor and support the Board and senior leaders as they transform the future of health. A large part of this role will involve reporting to the Board Secretary to drive and implement leading practices to support excellent Governance at Te Whatu Ora. The Governance Advisor will drive these processes and ensure they are understood across the organisation and, and ensure that the impacts of Governance decisions are understood by the Executive Leadership Team and the wider organisation.
The Governance Advisor will help guide the evolution of the Board governance processes and systems and build strong relationships with Board Members and Senior leaders, to become a trusted pair of hands. The day-to-day of this role will include preparing agendas and board meeting packs, supporting the induction of new Board members, sharing correspondence with key stakeholders and scheduling meetings. The work the Governance Advisor handles will the interesting and varied, and there is plenty of scope to make positive change.
This role is based in Auckland, you will need to be in the office at times for some of the in-person aspects of this role, such as attending meetings. There will be some flexibility to work from home and remotely.

Mōu | About you
You are an experienced admin and coordination professional who is confident working with senior leaders and Boards. You are able to handle sensitive information and always remain professional. You are a details person who can work at pace and produce accurate and high-quality work.
Your career has seen you work in fast paced and complex environments and dealing with ambiguity and processes in flux is not new to you. As someone who loves implementing new process and making things run more smoothly, the idea of creating new practices is appealing. You have experience with technical writing, such as creating reports and drafting memos. Ideally, you have experience with public sector processes and ways of working.

**This role requires and/or would benefit from the following**:

- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn
- A high level of organisation, administration, and coordination skills
- Ability to work with detail and produce error free work when working at pace
- A graduate and post-graduate qualification, or equivalent career experience
