**About the role**

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Director with 15+ years’ experience to join the team with a focus on the Mercy Ascott Redevelopment project. We see this role responsible for providing leadership and direction to the onsite project team to ensure successful project delivery and a satisfied client. Mercy Hospital Redevelopment (mercyascot.co.nz)

As Project Director you’ll be a key senior leader within the Leighs business, reporting to the North Island, Operations Manager, and contributing to business growth and development, by ensuring high performance teams and positive client relationships.
- Project profitability in relation to the forecast margin is in line with Agreed KPI’s at the pre commencement of projects.
- Strong commercial leadership at a detailed and strategic level.
- Build and maintain strong external relationships - client / consultants etc to deliver successful projects meeting agreed expectations.
- Ensure site H&S and QA compliance audit results are in accordance with the objectives set by the Executive team
- The number of defects outstanding beyond completion is in accordance with the KPI’s set at the pre commencement of projects.
- Ensure a strong project culture on site, that aligns with Leighs vision and values, ensuring that the project team are fully engaged in the broader Leighs business.
- Exceptional project delivery whilst actively incorporating best H&S practices.
- Actively works towards a zero-harm workplace, ensure that all employees are informed of significant hazards, relevant control measures, and emergency procedures that are associated with their work together with those procedures developed to prevent contamination of the environment.
- Manages the project contract and ensures Leighs operates within all contractual obligations and has maximized all opportunities

**About you**:

- Minimum 15 + years of large-scale construction projects
- Experienced in developing and maintaining / updating construction programmes in MS project.
- High standards of project reporting externally and internally
- In depth knowledge of NZ Construction Contracts e.g.3910, 3915, 3916
- Proven leadership experience, that align to our company’s values of Pride, Passion, and Excellence to maintain positive site culture.
- The ability to provide leadership to ensure a positive and engaging safety culture, while ensuring that all performance and compliance objectives are achieved.
- Previous experience developing and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with the client, consultants, and other key project/company stakeholders.
- Ability and experience accurately forecasting and managing key project deliverables, time, cost, and quality to deliver agreed-on KPIs.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
