The Māori Crown Relations Group and the Māori Crown Engagement Team support Te Pou Hauora Māori | The Māori Health Directorate to be the principal policy advisor to government for Māori health matters. Te Pou Hauora Māori leads the Ministry's kaitiaki | stewardship role to ensure the Ministry is meeting its obligations to Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori health equity in the context of the health system's performance for Māori.

Ko tōu ake mahi |What You'll Do
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Advisor Māori Crown Engagement within our Te Pou Hauora Māori | The Māori Health Directorate.
In this role, you will be providing high quality advice and input to advance the suite of work programmes in the Māori Crown Engagement Team and the Māori Health Directorate. This includes supporting the Principal Adviser and Manager with the key Ministerial and governance relationships in Māori health, supporting secretariate services and providing operational support to the statutory Hauora Māori Advisory Committee.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu | What You'll Bring
- Some knowledge and experience in Māori Crown Relations, Treaty settlement relationships, Treaty partnerships, Māori health or a relevant field
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities, and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy and confidentiality
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiences
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships
- Ability to operate in Te Ao Māori contexts, including understanding of tikanga, kawa and Te Reo Māori
- Tertiary qualification in a health or relevant field and/or equivalent stakeholder, iwi, and Māori community engagement experience.
