Auckland Council’s Healthy Waters department has an opportunity for an Intermediate Healthy Waters Specialist (Special Projects) within the Commercial & Property team.

As an Intermediate Healthy Waters Specialist (Special Projects), you will play a pivotal role in delivering pragmatic industry best practices in three waters solutions. This role encompasses design, project delivery, asset and operational management, and it places a strong emphasis on health and safety, financial and risk management. You will also be expected to build strong and effective relationships with all stakeholders. Additionally, you will assist the Commercial & Property team in providing commercial, statutory, property, and disputes resolution advice, as well as supporting program management efforts.

Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and develop a deep understanding of continuous improvement principles.
- Deliver tasks under the direction of Senior Healthy Waters Specialists or Principal Specialists.
- Plan and execute technical tasks, including design, project and asset management, in accordance with relevant codes and quality standards
- Integrate health and safety, risk management, budgeting, and forecasting into your work.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders within Healthy Waters and the broader Auckland Council family.
- Please note: This role is safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment drug testing._

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

This role requires experience in similar analytical roles, with a sound understanding of project and contract management.

We will be looking for specific experience with:

- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management or equivalent experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards full membership of a relevant professional body.

**Experience**:

- 3+ years’ experience in Three Waters infrastructure sector, local government sector, or public infrastructure or equivalent.
- Involvement in design, project management or operational management of Three Waters infrastructure.
- A track record of effective contract and project management.
- Public and stakeholder consultation/interaction.
