Auckland Council's Healthy Waters team is seeking a dynamic and driven Stormwater Dams Programme Engineer to champion our Stormwater Dams Programme. This pivotal role involves ensuring industry best practices, developing Dam Safety Management Systems, and collaborating with stakeholders to maintain compliance and uphold the highest standards.
- Please note: This role is internally referred to as Senior Healthy Water Specialist._
Day-to-day you could expect to work on:
- Oversee and maintain stormwater pond infrastructure, ensuring levels of service are met and environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Lead the development of business cases for renewals and capital upgrade programs related to stormwater dams.
- Drive innovation within Healthy Waters, establishing our reputation as an international leader in stormwater dam operational excellence.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and customer service is of the highest standard.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
This role requires experience in similar project management roles, with a sound understanding of exceptional customer communication skills, fostering positive rapport.
We will be looking for specific experience with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical); membership of a relevant professional body (in progress).
- Project management or operational qualification; site safety and safety in design principles.
- Post-graduate qualification, Registered or Chartered status (desirable).
- 5+ years' experience in stormwater pond or dam infrastructure design and operations, with specialized expertise.
- Proficiency in relevant legislation, guidelines, and regulations.
- Local government and stakeholder interaction experience.
