**About the role**
Are you passionate about driving business growth while fostering meaningful customer relationships? We're seeking a dynamic Sales Specialist to join our dedicated team at Waste Management NZ. As a Sales Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in managing existing customer relationships while driving new customer acquisition and revenue growth.
As a Sales Specialist, your primary goal will be to manage existing business customers, drive new customer acquisition, ensure profitable revenue growth, and enhance customer retention and renewal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Revenue Growth: Collaborate with the WMNZ team to contribute to the branch and regional revenue growth by meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Customer Relationship Management: Act as the key contact for a designated territory of customers, ensuring their needs are met and proposing tailored solutions for resource recovery and safe disposal outcomes.
- Sales Cycle Management: Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to engaging decision makers, proposing solutions, negotiating, and successfully closing sales.
- Proactive Planning and Forecasting: Conduct proactive planning, forecasting, and pipeline management, ensuring timely updates in CRM systems.
- Maximizing Customer Portfolio: Leverage existing customer leads to generate referrals, upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and enhance share of wallet growth.
- Regional Business Development: Devise and implement sales tactics in regional areas to achieve new business growth targets.
- Sustainability Initiatives: For larger customers, outline sustainability outcomes, and advocate for waste minimization and circular economy shifts.
- Compliance and Reporting: Adhere to Delegation of Authority and pricing approval processes, conduct necessary site visits, audits, and agreement signings as required.
- Market Insights and Strategies: Offer valuable insights and strategies to engage key market segments, utilizing sales tools to deliver professional presentations and customer proposals.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven track record in sales or account management.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage a sales cycle from lead generation to closure.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and sales tools.
- Understanding of circular economy, resource recovery, and competitor landscapes.
