Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
The Polynesian Health Corridors team works to support health system strengthening and better health outcomes in PHC's six partner countries (Cook Island, Niue, Samoa, Tokelau, Tonga, and Tuvalu). The team works closely with partner countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other key stakeholders to respond to needs across four key workstream areas - access to essential medicines, cancer control, mental health and pandemic preparedness.
As an Advisor to the Core Programme, you will collaborate closely with the team to facilitate the successful implementation, reporting, governance, and continuous improvement of the systems and processes within the Polynesian Health Corridors programme. An essential aspect of your role will be effectively communicating the objectives and accomplishments of our programme, while also establishing strong connections with our stakeholders, including senior health officials, MFAT, and Ministers. Rapidly building internal networks and relationships will be crucial, particularly to assist in contract and procurement processes. You'll take the lead in managing the programmes' responses to Official Information Act requests and ministerial inquiries. You will provide valuable support to the broader team in developing compelling presentations and delivering information to diverse audiences.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- Tertiary level professional qualification in a relevant field and/or significant equivalent experience
- Strong cultural competency and experience working with Pasifika people or Pacific Health contexts
- The ability to build positive working relationships with staff across the wider Ministry as well as all key stakeholders, internally and externally

- Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience of writing to a range of audiences is desirable
